With the engine and trans mounted to the cradle, I wanted to see what kind of clearance issues I was going to run into in the chassis. I have a rear section of a Fiero that I use for mock-ups. It's light enough that two guys can easily lift it into place. This allows me to correct a lot of problems before I ever try to fit the engine into the actual car.
The overall fit is pretty good. The oil and coolant caps will need to be moved.

I was hoping to retain the factory accessory mounting and belt routing for reliability. The next picture shows the first major issue. The stock alternator location will interfere with the right strut tower.

An idler pulley on the front will hit the firewall. Also notice the hood hinge support box has been removed from the area where the collant fill cap is located.

The crank pulley clears the frame rail.

With these issues identified, I can begin planning modifications to solve the problems.
