Hugh Lemma's 383ci Turbocharged Monster

This is the second Fiero I've built for Hugh. The engine is a 383 cubic inch small
block with a forged crank, Eagle 4340 H-beam rods, SRP
forged pistons, AFR 190cc aluminum heads, roller cam/lifters, roller rockers, a
Lingenfelter/Accel Super Ram EFI intake, Accel Gen VII DFI, 65 lb/hr injectors,
MSD billet distributor and digital ignition, and some other stuff I forgot to
mention.

I started this project with a master build kit from V8 Archie. Much of what came with the kit was not used for various reasons. Almost every part of the kit that I did use was modified in some way.
I fabricated the headers and exhaust system
entirely from 304L stainless steel. I used V-band flanges wherever possible to eliminate
the possibility of gasket leaks. There is no muffler on this car, just two 3
inch catalytic converters.

The turbocharger was sized and supplied by Innovative Turbo Systems. The wastegate and
multi-stage electronic boost control are also
from Innovative.

A Spearco air/liquid intercooler fits down low in
front of the engine. All intake plumbing is high temp silicone with stainless
T-bolt clamps on 3" mandrel bent aluminum tubing. A Bosch pump circulates
the coolant to a heat exchanger mounted at the front of the car.

Stock fuel rails have been modified to allow more fuel
flow. A pair of Walbro fuel pumps replace the single stock pump in the tank and
two 3/8" lines supply fuel through an SX Performance filter and regulator.

The transmission is a race prepared, cryogenically treated 4T65E-HD with a Torsen limited slip differential. The torque converter was built by Pat's Converters and is bolted to a custom SFI approved flexplate from Mondello. Shifting is controlled by a fully programmable Compushift controller and a steering wheel paddle shifter from Twist Machine.
The drive axles are custom made by Mark Williams
Enterprises using Porsche 930 type CV joints. The picture below
shows a stock GM 24mm axle next to the Mark Williams 30mm axles we are
using.
Below are the stub flanges used to mate the Porsche CVs to
the GM parts. On the left is the left inner flange from GM's Sport Compact
racing program. On the right is the outer flange made by Mark Williams Enterprises.

The front suspension is a Held Motorsports kit with
tubular control arms and Carrera coil-over shocks. Held fabricated a special set
of lowering spindles for us, designed to use '88 Fiero calipers and '96 Corvette
rotors on an '87 Fiero with no adapters.

The rear suspension has been replaced with an '88 Fiero cradle and tubular arms, and Koni coil-over struts.
The interior of the car consists of leather wrapped Pisa dash and door panels, ACC carpet, Recarro seats, and a roll bar from Chase Race.
The exterior of the car remains mostly stock with the exception of the IRM rocker panels and a cowl induction style hood. The wheels are 3 piece Compomotive TS, 16x7 front and 16x9 rear.
