12" Corvette rotor conversion for '88 Fieros

This is a fairly simple conversion for '88 Fieros using '88-95 Corvette front 12" rotors. The larger rotors provide more braking leverage with the same amount of pedal pressure, and they also have more surface area to dissipate heat. These two factors give you a very noticeable increase in braking performance for a relatively low cost. I've used this conversion on several of my own cars and I'm always very impressed with the results.

The rotors get re-drilled with the Fiero 5 on 100mm bolt circle. Concentric rings are pressed into the center of each rotor to align it on the Fiero hub.

A steel bracket is used to relocate each of the stock '88 Fiero calipers. The bracket simply bolts to the Fiero knuckle using two M12x1.75 bolts, and the caliper bolts to the bracket using existing hardware.

These brakes will fit behind stock GT 15" wheels. Here you can see the brakes behind a 17" wheel.

11.25" Chrysler rotor conversion for 84-87 Fieros

This is very popular brake upgrade for '84-87 Fieros. It's a more expensive upgrade than the one above because you need to replace all four calipers and the master cylinder. It has been fairly well documented elsewhere on the internet, so I will not provide much detail. One thing I will suggest is that you use the stock cable mounting brackets and actuator arms that came on the rear calipers. Using the Fiero arms and custom boomerang shaped brackets will result in the cables being too short when the car is at normal ride height and completely useless if the car is lowered. The conversion uses four rear rotors for a Chrysler Lebaron. Two of them need to be slightly modified for the rear of the Fiero by enlarging the center hole. The stock Fiero front rotors need to be cut on a lathe to make a hub that the new rotor will slide over. The front calipers are from an '85 Camaro, rears are from an '85 Cadillac Seville. The calipers have many other applications, a complete list is shown below. Stock length hoses can be used. The stock 15" GT wheels will fit if you grind off four small machine bosses from the inside of the wheels and have them rebalanced.

There is about 3/16" clearance between the caliper and this 17" wheel
