Exhaust

There are probably as many different ways to build an exhaust system as there are builders. Below are a few of the ones I've done for 3800 and 4.9 conversions with rear-facing single outlet exhaust manifolds. All of the systems below are using 2.5" mandrel bends in plain steel, aluminized steel, or stainless steel. I prefer to use the OEM manifold flange whenever possible.

Here are a few examples that are easy to construct using pre-made mandrel bends. The bottom of the trunk needs to be removed for clearance. A new floor will be welded in later.

It's sometimes possible to fit the exhaust without cutting the trunk.

Below is a 4.9 with two Eldorado/Seville front manifolds and a custom Y pipe going into a Flowmaster.

Here is another Y-pipe on early Deville manifolds. The rear manifold outlet is capped. This design allows the exhaust system to follow the stock Fiero route using a catalytic converter and a full size muffler without cutting into the trunk.
