Various bits and pieces of information about the 4.9 swap that you may find useful.
A stock '87-'88 4cyl Fiero throttle cable will fit the Cadillac PFI throttle body and bracket.
The upper heater hose connection requires a 1" hose. I have used the stock Cadillac hose. The hose has one large end to fit the engine, and a small end that can be connected to the Fiero size hose. The heater return hose gets connected directly to the water pump. In the case of the '87-'88 Fiero where it connects to the chassis tubing, the inlet on the water pump can be capped.
The 4.9 will bolt to any of the Fiero manual transmissions, but the bell housing needs to be notched for starter clearance as seen below.
