Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 replica by D&R Replicars.
This is a project car that has not been completed. This is one of the last kits produced by D&R before going out of business. The D&R body kits are known to be among the best available. If you are looking for a unique project, or just want to own an exotic car for a reasonable price, this is a great oportunity to get a head start and save some money. We have lost interest and no longer have time to complete this car. We are selling this unfinished car for much less than what we have put into it. All of the major fabrication has been completed. The chassis is complete. The body has been fitted to the chassis and is fully supported by tubular steel framework. It is not permanently attached, so it can still be removed for easy access to the chassis and drive train for final adjustments. All hinges and latches are backed up with steel plates and supported by the chassis, not just bolted to the fiberglass body. The door hinges are high quality billet aluminum hinges provided by D&R and the latches are from Mercedes, just like the ones used on an authentic Diablo. The door gas struts are installed and the doors open and close. The power window motors and tracks have been installed, windows go up and down. Two sets of tempered glass door windows are included. The glass has been removed for safe storage. The outer door skins need to be bonded on, they have been left off until the inner workings of the doors are fully installed and tested. The windshield wiper motor and linkage has been installed. The headlights are mounted to the chassis on adjustable brackets and they can be removed for servicing or replacement without removing the body. The front hood and rear engine covers are installed, each with steel inner framework to support the hinges and latches. The outer skins of the engine covers need to be bonded on. The body kit is complete, and includes the full fiberglass interior kit with dash, console, and seat shells. No upholstry has been done. No body work has been done. There are some rough spots on the gelcoat, but the fiberglass is solid and straight. It will require normal body work and surface prep before painting.
The chassis is based on a 1988 Fiero, modifieid to D&R specifications to fit the body. Because D&R was located here in Allentown we were able to work closely with them throughout the project to ensure that everything was done properly. We used the D&R jigs and patterns to weld up the chassis sub-assemblies and door frames. The front suspension is a widetrack system from HT Motorsports with tubular upper and lower control arms, Carrera adjustable coil-over shocks, and drop spindles with custom hubs to fit the Lamborghini wheels. The rear suspension uses KYB coil-over struts and custom fabricated uprights and Corvette hubs. All bushings, ball joints, and bearings are new. The brakes are 13” Corvette drilled and slotted rotors with Wilwood four piston forged Dynalite calipers and mechanical single piston parking brake calipers. The wheels are authentic 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago 18x8.5 front and 18x13 rear with Pirelli P-Zero 245/35-18 front and 335/30-18 rear tires in good condition. The suspension has been designed to fit the OEM wheels, the wheels bolt directly to the hubs with no spacers or adapters. This car is set up with the perfect stance and wheel sizes to make it look right. Ride hieght can be fine tuned by adjusting the coil-over springs. Heavy-duty rollers are installed under the front end to prevent damage to the bumper.
The engine in the car is a BMW M70 5.0 liter V12 mated to an Audi Getrag 016 five speed manual transaxle using a custom aluminum adapter. The engine has been installed for mock-up and there is currently no clutch or flywheel installed. A custom billet aluminum flywheel and new clutch is included. The BMW engine wiring, sensors, and ECUs are included but not installed. New gaskets and seals are included to overhaul the engine as well as some tune-up parts including distributor caps, rotors, spark plugs. Two custom aluminum radiators are installed in the back of the car with electric cooling fans. A high performance electric fuel pump has been installed. The exhaust system has been completed. It is made entirely from 304L mandrel bent stainless steel tubing and includes Magnaflow catalytic converters and mufflers, and polished stainless steel exhaust tips that are near perfect replicas of the original 6.0. Two aluminum radiators are mounted at the rear as per original Lamborghini. The cooling system plumbing is partially completed.
Many of the pictures were taken throughout different stages of the project, so be aware that not all pictures show the current condition of the car. Some parts are not shown in the pictures, but if they are described here they are included with the car. We are also including two new OEM front turn signal lights, two OEM tail lights, replica interior button switch graphics, aluminum gauge panel with warning light overlay, billet fuel door, lots of extra BMW parts, and other parts that we've collected for the project. We also have a clean and clear title for the '88 Fiero in my name.
This is not a complete working car. It is being sold as a project car. It cannot be driven, it will need to be towed. It is highly recommended that you come see the car before purchasing if possible. We are in contact with the former owner of D&R and we have access to any parts and information needed to complete the car. I have 100% positive feedback and nothing to hide, so if you have any questions please just ask.
