The performance and driveability of most engine swaps can be improved greatly by using a computer chip that is properly programmed for the application. Some swaps require custom programming in order to function correctly and in some cases to function at all. The chips offered here are for the 3800 thru 1995 and all years Cadillac 4.9. The chip itself is enclosed in a plastic Memcal module that is easily removed from the ECM. We program every Memcal module specifically for the intended application, we do not sell generic one-fits-all Memcals. We do not do any performance tuning, we only adjust the basic settings to match the application.

- Speedometer calibration matched to tire size

- VATS/PASS-Key disabled
- Speed limiter removed
- RPM limiter adjusted
- Cooling fan on/off temps optimized

For automatic transmissions it is very important that you provide either the four letter code from the label on the original Memcal that was used with the transmission, or the three letter code from the tag on the transmission. Because each chip is specifically programmed for your vehicle, Memcal orders may take up to two weeks to process. There is a $60 core charge on this item, which will be refunded when we receive your old Memcal.
